A glamorous Tory who posed in a red Baywatch-style swimsuit is due to pocket a six-figure fee for appearing on Celebrity Big Brother.Charlotte Leslie, 39, the former MP for Bristol North West and a vicar’s daughter, will appear on the programme in January.The programme is choosing ‘strong, empowered’ female contestants to take part to mark 100 years since women got the vote, while the men will be selected later.A source told The Sun: ‘January’s series will mark 100 years since women won the vote and is all about, strong, empowered women.’Channel 5 bosses have been desperate to sign a female politician and they are thrilled that they’ve managed to land Charlotte.’Channel 5 newsreader India Willoughby, 51, has also been in talks with the show, according to The Sun, as has Made In Chelsea star India Willoughby.Miss Leslie, a Brexit supporter who was named the ‘sexiest MP in parliament’, lost her seat in the 2017 snap general election.She posed in a red swimsuit to raise awareness of the lifesaving efforts carried out daily on Britain’s coasts.It mirrored a photograph taken in 1999 when she was just 20, which shows the then student working as a lifeguard in Cornwall during her university summers.After her lifeguarding work, Miss Leslie worked in television for the BBC and Sky, and worked as a part-time Classics tutor.She joined the Policy Exchange think tank in 2005 and became an advisor for David Willets then Shadow Secretary of state for Children, Schools and Families.In 2011, while in parliament, she was appointed as David Cameron’s Big Society ambassador.She was praised by George Osborne for helping to abolish the beer duty escalator, which added 2% plus inflation to the cost of beer duty each year.Miss Leslie called off her engagement to BBC local radio presenter John Davell last year. The pair met five years ago and got engaged on Christmas Day 2014.She’s not the first!
