  1. It is so exciting to see Lori McKenna's well deserved success! She has played for us in the past at South Shore Folk Music Club, Kingston, Mass, with Paul Kochanski, the bass player in this clip. We recently had Mark Erelli play in December. What a great thing to see them all play together
on Stephen Colbert, our hero every night of the week! Paul is playing with Alastair Moock for us this Saturday, if you want to check it out – Joanne Buchanan, South Shore Folk Music Club

  2. I love all the hipsters saying they like this song, like they just found a song nobody knows. Its a country song sung by Tim McGraw, an award winner at that.

  3. That was great. Her guitarist, Mark Erelli, is also amazing–singer, guitarist, songwriter. Check him out, and you won't be sorry. Lookin' good, Mark! Lori's album Bittertown (from years ago) is one of my favorites.

  4. Always interesting to hear the writer perform the song rather than a singer who paid for the song. I absolutely love the song, popularized by Tim McGraw (and his version of course). But it does take on a slightly different meaning from the writer.

  5. Wow.
That was the first time I've heard that song and I'm pretty sure I've never heard Lori McKenna before but that song just feels so familiar, like I've been hearing it my whole life. Lori's sound is like your childhiod blanket that never fails to comfort you.
