  1. I don't really care how much this will be priced in the initial market. One way or another, this will be my backup phone for solely filming. Having a cinema smartphone is just an awesome idea, and I'm glad to see that something is finally being done to make it happen. Can't wait for this thing to finish its production phases and start being sold, however long that might take.

  2. Watched like 4 times now, I'm so curious… these next 30-45 days can't go by fast enough. If the price point of the camera module/lenses aren't insanely steep…I'd probably get one.

  3. this is very cool. but I think camera companies should partner with bigger companies. like RED partners with samsung in making their cameras. I feel like it would have better reach to the masses. only a small amount of people will buy this. but I'm guessing they know that.

  4. @Marques Would that Jim you mentioned be Jim Jannard?

Back in the late 80's-early 90's he and his assistant, Bobbi, used to come into the camera store I managed, Olympic Camera in Costa Mesa. If you get the chance to speak to him ask him if he remembers me. I was tall, balding, and 200 lbs back then.

I was at South Coast Plaza one time, going down an escalator when I hear someone calling my name on the other escalator. I looked up and there was Jim. If only my girlfriend had been there I might have scored some major brownie points. :o)

  5. If the phone + Videomodule ends up around 2000$ and the quality is as good as a full frame dslr in videomode, it is going to be a killer video combo if you pair it up with a mini-gimbal!

  6. Dude this phone looks like it's gonna take over the world dude. Skynet looking ass 😂😂😂 I do love this phone though it's what the motor z should've been

  7. The phone is an ugly mess of materials. It is very very bulky I has some somewhat large bezels (which isn’t a problem but in 2017 amd 2018 everyone seems to be obsessed with that). It is really expensive and the biggest feature the display he literally looked like meh. Like he covers it up as he is “taking it in” but I don’t believe it like he just looked so unimpressed. I bet this phone flops just like the fire phone. And really a modular back that is just a gimmick (sorts like that display) but remember the Moto Z that thing flopped and Motorola went back to non modular phones. The only thing I can see this phone being really useful for is the camera.

  8. People complaining about MKBHD making videos about products we can't afford…would you rather watch a Toyota Corolla parking at a grocery store or a Lamborghini going sideways at 150mph?

You don't get 3+ million views and 5 million subscribers by showing off ubiquitous products, you get those numbers by showing off the ol' razzle dazzle.

Youtube is filled with Corolla reviews.

Thank you Marques for showing us the cool stuff.
